Find out more about European Research Council grants

Staff are invited to attend an event to find out more about the European Research Council (ERC) grants scheme.

The event will give an overview of the types of grants available through the ERC, provide details of the application process and share examples of best practice based on successful applications.

Professor Dmitry Shchukin, from the Department of Chemistry who has recently been awarded an ERC Consolidator Grant, will give his own insights on developing an ERC grant application.

The ERC Executive Agency (ERCEA), who manage the programme, will also present at the event and will provide details of the priorities for the 2016-17 work programme, which will be launched soon, including details of the timetable and budget for calls this year.

The ERC supports the highest quality research in Europe through attractive, long-term funding to support excellent investigators and their research teams to pursue ground-breaking, high-risk research.

Proposals may be submitted in any field of research, and are judged solely on scientific excellence and track record of the applicant. Grants are available at postgraduate level and above.

This event is open to all staff and will take place in the Jane Herdman lecture theatre in the Jane Herdman Building on Thursday, 16 July from 1pm to 3pm.

Sandwiches and refreshments are available from 1pm -1.30pm. If you wish to attend, please contact Andy Farquhar (A.Farquhar@liverpool.ac.uk) or Vicki O’Connor (v.oconnor@liverpool.ac.uk ) in Research Policy.
