Placements needed for Liverpool Pre-Apprentice Programme

The University is hoping to offer 10 young people a place on its Pre-Apprentice Programme which begins again in September.

The University currently has six Pre-Apprentices who were recruited in September 2014 on a 12-month programme in collaboration with Liverpool City Council. The Pre-Apprentices are participating in placements throughout the University in areas such as Finance, Computing Services, Physical Sciences and Infection and Global Health.

The programme provides them with personal development in customer service training, employability skills development and functional skills in Maths and English. This year’s intake has also raised more than £1,800 to enable them to participate in the Apprenticeship Tall Ship Cup which will begin in June.

If any departments can offer a place for a Pre-Apprentice, please contact Steve Plant at splant@liv.ac.uk or call 46948 before Friday, 5 June.
