New MBA teaching facility opens in Liverpool

Former Chief Executive of Thomson Travel Group Plc and Liverpool alumnus, Paul Brett, has opened the University of Liverpool’s new teaching facility for MBA students.

The new facility will provide MBA students with a dedicated suite, featuring the latest audio visual equipment, break out spaces, careers interview rooms, exhibition spaces and social zones.

It is located at the University’s Senate Drum building which has undergone a £5 million refurbishment.

Paul Brett made a significant donation to the University to support the refurbishment and the facility has been renamed the Brett Building in memory of his late mother, Kathleen Brett.

After the official opening, Paul Brett delivered the inaugural lecture of the Management School’s MBA speaker series 2014/15. During the lecture, he shared with guests his thoughts and experiences from his successful career in business and as an investor in small businesses. He discussed the key factors which he believed were important to succeed in business, as well as highlighting the benefits of enjoying a successful career.

Paul Brett was with Thomson Travel Group Plc. for 20 years. Since his retirement from the company he has invested in and helped develop a number of new businesses in travel, wine and restaurants.
